Rediscover
Eight tents in the highlands of Nan, and twelve below a sacred mountain in Cambodia.
Same collection, different country.
The romance of the road less travelled.
Visama camps stand in remote country, a few hours from a regional airport, with few enough tents that the team knows every guest by name. Nan opened the collection in December 2025. Koah Ker, in the forests of northern Cambodia, is the second.

Ban Wen, Nan Province, and Prasat Thom at Koh Ker
Every experience is an introduction.
Every activity is a genuine cultural exchange, arranged around the guest and open only to guests of the camp. Four here are at Nan and four are at Koah Ker.

Indigo dyeing with Tai Lue artisans
The cloth remembers what you put into it. The blue arrives slowly, in the air after each dip.
At Nan

Koh Ker temples at first light
Walk Prasat Thom and its forest temples with a private guide before anyone else arrives. The seven tiers glow as the sun climbs.
At Koah Ker

Highland forest treks at dawn
Before the valley wakes you move through ancient canopy with a guide who knows these trails by sound as much as sight.
At Nan

Silk weaving with Khmer artisans
Sit at the loom with the weavers of hol silk, and learn how a pattern is dyed into the thread before it is ever woven.
At Koah Ker

Sacred temple blessing
A private blessing in the Lanna Buddhist tradition, offered as an act of genuine welcome. It is received in stillness and remembered for years.
At Nan

Bike and hike
Ride trails through paddy and past stilt houses on a mountain bike. The route is private and the pace is yours.
At Koah Ker

Private valley cycling
Ride the valley floor past paddy fields and working farms, at a pace that lets the landscape settle in.
At Nan

The Rock Pond
A natural pool held by boulders and shaded by frangipani. Swim where the stream slows down, then dry off on the warm stone.
At Koah Ker
Travel that regenerates.
Guided by The Long Run's 4Cs and developed by VHG Hospitality Asia. At both camps these four words decide what gets built, who gets hired and what ends up on the plate.
Conservation
In Nan the camp looks after the highland watershed. At Koah Ker, native planting is bringing the wildlife back.
Community
The team is hired from the valley, the food is bought in the village, and a share of revenue goes back to the community.
Culture
Guests meet Tai Lue weaving in Nan and Khmer cooking at Koah Ker, in the homes of the people who practise them.
Commerce
Both camps run as responsible businesses, so the other three commitments can last.
Both camps carry the same fire.
The Ambalama is the traveller's rest: one at each camp, where the evening gathers.
At Nan, a film under an open sky
Drinks come out at sundown and the film starts after dark.
At Koah Ker, a silent film among the boulders
Drinks come out at sundown and the film plays by the fire.
